Did you know that the king of Hungary once gave Vlad the Impaler a medallion with an Ouroboros on it? Cool story. Vlad was an heir to a borderland kingdom near the Ottoman Empire and spent his entire life trying to fend off the invaders during the Crusades. That horrible story of a huge expanse of impaled bodies on stakes is a historical fact and it did cause the Ottoman invaders to retreat....for a time. What you may not have heard was that Vlad was a hostage Prince to the Sultan for many years in his youth and was finally released after a period of "retraining" to serve as a puppet ruler in his former kingdom. He learned the subtle art of impalement from the Turks and when finally given the chance ...well Karma bites back, they say.
